Established in 2003, the Festival of Nature is the UK’s biggest free celebration of the natural world. The Festival began as a two-day showcase of interactive activities and live entertainment across Bristol’s Harbourside, and in recent years has grown to include an ever-expanding programme of events across the city and region throughout the summer. Festival of Nature now includes free flagship family events in Bristol and Bath, as well as a range of exciting fringe activity across the West of England.

The Festival content is developed by The Natural History Consortium – 13 organisations working together under the charitable mission of engaging people with the natural world through collaborative action. Our amazing committee bring together a wealth of experience from the worlds of conservation, policy, research and media to put together a uniquely diverse programme each year. Exploring new ways of sharing stories and inspiring action for nature, the consortium takes what we learn here in the West of England to develop and share best practice with our partners and collaborators across the UK and beyond.
