The dates for Encounters 2018, the UK’s leading short film and animation festival, have been released.

The event, which discovers, supports and develops new talent in filmmaking, will run from September 25th  to September 30th 2018.

As always, the festival will feature a diverse selection of short film screenings, feature films, guest film programmes, special guests, Q&As and gala events. There will also be masterclasses and workshops for budding filmmakers.

At the heart of the event is the Encounters Festival International Competition, one of the world’s leading international competitions for short film and animation. The competition is also an official gateway to the world’s most prestigious awards; BAFTAs, European Film Awards and is also a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards®.

Tickets for Encounters 2018 will go on sale in August. See the festival’s website for more news and updates.
