The Other Art Fair returns to Bristol’s Arnolfini on 22nd – 24th July to present 80 emerging artists alongside unique pop-up immersive experiences, an award-winning film showcase and bespoke interactive installations.
Taking place on the same weekend as Europe’s largest street art festival – Upfest – it means Bristol is a ‘must’ destination for art lovers that weekend.
The Other Art Fair and Upfest will be just a short walk apart, so visitors may enjoy them both whilst visiting the city either for the whole weekend or just a day; walking between The Other Art Fair at Bristol’s Arnolfini gallery and South Bristol, and the Upfest heartland of Bedminster and Southville.
The Other Art Fair is a pioneering event, offering potential buyers the chance to meet artists face-to-face to learn about their process and influences ahead of purchasing art. The exciting artist line-up has been steered by a specialist selection committee featuring some of the UK’s best names in curation; Kate Brindley, CEO, Arnolfini; Royal Academician and previous Tate Trustee Paul Huxley; and Andrew Nairne, Director of Kettle’s Yard, University of Cambridge.
The accessible nature of the event welcomes an audience of art lovers, 60% of whom are new to the art-buying experience. The fair presents a broad range of genres including photography, print-making, painting, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics, street art and even taxidermy, with prices starting from just £50. The Other Art Fair Bristol is the sole UK edition outside London; alongside the launch of a The Other Art Fair Sydney, the inaugural Bristol edition opened in June 2015 and attracted over 4,500 visitors across the weekend.
