The Latin American Encounter is an annual event that showcases the cultural diversity of Latin America and Spain. The project started in mid-2016 with members of The Mexican Society at University of Bristol and representatives of Spain and Latin American countries including Colombia, Venezuela, Perú, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
This year’s event will be held on Saturday 12 October at 30-64 Pennywell Road, Bristol, BS5 0TL from 11.00 to 23.00. The event will hold a wide range of stands with delightful dishes from a variety of Latin American countries, including Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil as well as live performances and workshops. Some past performances included a tango workshop (Tango Puro) and flamenco and Caribbean beats (Flamenco Loco).
We strive to provide an event that caters for everyone. Whether your roots are in Latin America or you have a keen interest in this part of the world, this event is for the old and the young alike.
The team is committed to providing a family-friendly event.
This year we will also be featuring an arts & crafts section with handmade products from Latin America which will be available for purchase.
