The Downs Festival 2018 returns with a stellar line up including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Paul Weller, Orbital and Goldie and the Heritage Orchestra on Saturday 1st September.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Paul Weller will take to the main stage as part of a line-up that also features Somerset rockers The Heavy and Houston trio Khruangbin, Blossoms, Saint Etienne, Nadine Shah and Dream Wife.
The second stage will be headline by EDM legends Orbital and will also host performances from legendary producer and DJ Goldie and the Heritage Ensemble, dance legends Basement Jaxx (DJ Set), Jarvis Cocker’s Desperate Soundsystem, Bad Sounds and Laid Blak.
Discussion and debate has been a key part of The Downs Bristol since its inception three years ago and once again festival goers can expect the return of The Information Stage, a space where key note speakers address issues affecting UK society. Previous years have featured esteemed spoken word performers including Kate Tempest, Akala and legendary film director Ken Loach.
Conal Dodds, co-founder of event organisers Crosstown Concerts commented: “2017 was a great year for the festival and our 2018 line-up features some of the best live acts around. We know there’ll be a huge amount of interest in seeing legends like Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller live in Bristol. It’s been well over 20 years since Noel played in Bristol and I’m sure he’ll get a great welcome back.”
Tickets for the one day festival will be on sale from 1st March, with first tickets available in person from 8am at The Love Inn, Bristol Ticket Shop and Rough Trade and on general release at 9am via TheBristolDowns.com, Songkick.com, Seetickets.com, Gigantic.com and Bristolticketshop.co.uk.
