Love cinema? Let’s make a date at the 4th edition of Cinema Rediscovered on Thu 25 – Sun 28 July 2019 in Bristol UNESCO City of Film, UK & surrounding area. Film critic Simran Hans will be opening the festival on the Thursday, delivering the 2019 Philip French Memorial Lecture presented in partnership with Bristol Festival Of Ideas and the Observer. Simran Hans has worked tirelessly as both a critic and a programmer and has, as a result, a wealth of understanding of the pressures facing film criticism and the wider industry.
At Cinema Rediscovered you can expect a friendly space for all to share passions and enthusiasms for film and plenty of opportunities to experience films in the immersive, communal environment of the darkened room we call the cinema. The cinemas this year include Watershed, Curzon Cinema and Arts in Clevedon & beyond.
This event is a chance to experience lesser known cinematic voices, some of the finest digital restorations, contemporary classics and film print rarities from across the globe. The perfect excuse for a city break with a cinematic twist!
