Bristol will be once again putting on a weekend of events celebrating the life and work of one of the city’s most famous sons with Cary Grant Comes Home 2018 in November.
The life and career of Hollywood actor and style icon Cary Grant will be at the centre of the weekend, the screen legend able to trace his roots back to Bristol.
Festival attractions will include screenings of several of Grant’s best loved films, with a special focus on those directed by Alfred Hitchcock; a Looking for Archie walking tour of Bristol places most closely associated with the star; a cream tea plus talk at the hotel where Cary often entertained his Mum and expert-led panel discussions and lectures.
There will also be a screening of the award-winning documentary Becoming Cary Grant followed by discussion and a closing gala event featuring a film, music, dancing and a prize competition to choose which attendees best match Cary Grant and his leading ladies for cool and chic.
Ticket prices start at £5, rising to £20, and will go on sale in mid September. To stay up-to-date with the plans, see www.carycomeshome.co.uk; find Cary Grant Comes Home for the Weekend on Facebook or follow @carycomeshome on Instagram/Twitter.
