Bristol Refugee Festival is a month-long programme of arts, cultural and educational events that takes place every June around National Refugee Week, bringing together communities from across Bristol to celebrate the contribution refugees make to the city. Refugee Festival CIC was established in November 2017, in response to requests from the refugee and asylum seeker support organisations, to coordinate the ever-increasing programme of events.
The aims of the Festival are:
● To promote better understanding as to why people seek sanctuary
● Help overcome misconceptions around refugee and asylum seekers
● Value the diversity and talent that incoming communities bring to Bristol
● Support successful integration in to host communities
