The Bristol Refugee Festival 2018 will take place throughout June, bringing the contribution that refugees make to life in the city to the forefront.
An arts, cultural and educational event, it takes place as part of a UK-wide initiative called Refugee Week which takes place every year, focussing on World Refugee Day on June 20th.
The month-long programme of events will celebrate the contribution of refugees to life in Bristol and aim to do the following
*Promote better understanding as to why people seek sanctuary.
*Help overcome the misconceptions that can create hostility towards refugees.
*Value the diversity and talent that refugees and asylum seekers bring to Bristol.
*Support successful integration.
