A brand new festival celebrating music from the Medieval and Renaissance period through to the Baroque.

On Friday 3rd May 2019, there is an evening concert of seventeenth century instrumental and vocal music given by London-based group Sounds Baroque, featuring songs by Henry Purcell. The concert is followed by informal candle-lit viol music from Bristol’s favourite baroque cellist and gamba player, Jonathan Rees.

Over the weekend there will be practical workshops for adults and children, open to all, and led by experienced professional tutors. There will also be an exhibition of instruments, with talks, demonstrations and concerts by established Bristol groups.
