From blues and folk to country and bluegrass, Bristol Americana Weekend returns for the second year, bringing a range of world-class and award winning artists to the city for an unforgettable weekend of live music from 15th – 17th July.

Bristol Music Trust, the organisation that runs Colston Hall has once again partnered with St George’s Bristol to create an epic line-up featuring musical giant Elvis Costello, Grammy Award winners Mary Chapin Carpenter, Lucinda Williams and The HillBenders present TOMMY: A Bluegrass Opry – the group’s unique tribute to The Who’s seminal rock opera… so get ready to order a glass of amber nectar, find a decent spot and let the music take over.

Lucinda Williams & The Pierce Brothers will kick things off on the Friday night at the Colston Hall while at the same time The Hillbenders will play St George’s.

Mary Carpenter, a country legend who has sold 14 million albums worldwide, and Nashvlle all-female trio Applewood Road will play the Colston Hall on Saturday.

A performer like no other, Elvis Costello has been giving audiences the time of their lives for more than three decades, and will be playing the Colston Hall on Sunday evening. Known for his work with The Attractions and now The Imposters, he has also worked with Burt Bacharach, Paul McCartney and The Roots to name just a few. Rolling Stone magazine named him as one of their top 100 artists of all time and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. This is a rare chance to see this musical legend in Bristol.
